Australian visitors who came to Indonesia within the first two months of 2010 (January – February) has significantly rise up to 52,36%. In year of 2009 foreign visitors from Australia were about 60.601, while in year of 2010 it rise up to 92.332 visits.
Head of Center Information and Public Relation Ministry of Culture and Tourism I Gusti Ngurah Putra said that most of the Australian choose Bali as their favourite destination. “Based on the data from Data Management and Network System Ministry of Culture and Tourism among 92.332 Australian visitors on January – February 2010 , 77.224 visitors come through Ngurah Rai Bali International Airport.” said I Gusti Ngurah Putra on the Press Conference in Sapta Pesona Building Jakarta, Thursday (1/4).
In addition, the number of Australian Visitor coming to Indonesia through Soekarno – Hatta Airport Jakarta and Batam in series are 9.253 visits and 1.443 visits, while visitors coming through, Juanda Surabaya and Makassar, in series are 319 visits and 342 visits. Larger amount of visit occured in Tanjung Priok Jakarta and Tanjung Uban Riau Archipelago which reached 477 and 2.069 visit. Others coming through the rest 12 ports of entry were in a relatively small number or less than 200.
Incessant promotions of Indonesian tourism in Australia become one of boosting factors that increase the number of Australian visitor. Another factor is the additional flight route from cities in Australia which ease the accessibility to Indonesia.
